“Hey that was a foul!!” Starla argued with Taylor, pushing back her shoulder length black her that was gradually being plastered on her sweaty face. “No it was not!” Shot back Taylor defending his side of the situation. "Yes it was, but I wouldn't expect you to know that since you can't tell the difference between a basketball or bowling ball!" "Oh my god, I CAN NOT believe you even MADE the basketball team last year, 'cause you know jack about it!" a frustrated Tay shouted. The other two remaining players, Zac and Ike on the other hand, just sighed and sat down near the tree where it was shaded.
“You know, sometimes I wonder if they are friends or enemies” Isaac commented watching yet another fight between Taylor and Starla. It was a particularly pleasant summer day and the four of them wanted to play a friendly game of basketball. But not even halfway through the game, the two of them (Tay and Starla) had argued already three times and proceeding into their fourth.
Finally, Zac couldn’t take it anymore and tried to break the two up. “Look, let’s just do something else, you guys are really not getting the concept of a ‘friendly’ game of basketball” “Yeah, let’s go do something else” Isaac said, in hopes the fight would please end. “Fine” Starla said, "Its not my fault he's mentally challenged" Tay gritted his teeth and muttered a "FINE" Isaac and Zac just rolled their eyes.
Zac paced around the room, bored out of his mind. The entire Hanson family decided to sleep in since because of the interviews, they haven't had much sleep. But Zac unusually couldn't sleep anymore. 'There had to be something to do' he thought to himself. So far, the summer was not going very well. The traveling and interviews were alright, but when it came down to just them and maybe some of their friends doing normal stuff, it was so boring. Taylor and Isaac were still sleeping, and Zac was mad that HE was given the privilege of sleeping in a trundle bed which was closest to the window, making him a victim of the first rays of sunlight shining through. ‘This is pathetic!’ he thought to himself, now realizing he was coming up with reasons and debating about basically nothing. “AHHHHHH!!!!” Zac screamed, annoyed with all the peacefulness of the house. “ZAC!!” the rest of the Hanson boys yelled in unison from the bedroom “BE QUIET!!” Somewhat mad and hyper, Zac ran out of the house.
Outside, he strapped on his blades and just headed off in a direction. This helped burn off the excess energy he had inside of him that he couldn’t use inside the house. Zac turned a corner and found himself skating down Starla’s street. Starla, by the way is a very close friend of the Hanson family, their parents used to work together in the oil business. Zac, Tay, and Ike had signed a good record deal though, so now their parents were joining them on the road. But Starla and them managed to still be great friends despite the difficulties.
Zac looked at his watch. It was 10:30. ‘Aw what the heck, it’s late enough’ he thought to himself as he made his way up the Jenk’s driveway. He was greeted by Starla at the door. “Hey Zac, you’re a bit early” “What’s up?” “Civilization!!” Zac exclaimed. “What?” Starla asked, utterly confused at what the world he was talking about.
