*~CHAPTER 21~*

The rest of the traditional Christmas day was to say the least, crowded. Despite having all the Hanson and Jenks’ family, relatives and friends had come in from all over the states for Christmas, crowding every visible space in the Hanson household. Isaac, Taylor, and Zac had decided to try out their new found loves: paintball and dirtbikes, so the remainder of the afternoon was spent in the woods behind their house, dragging along the two Jenks siblings.

Christine played with a twig that was sticking up from the ground while watching the guys play another oh so exciting paintball game. Star escaped this torture with an excuse of ‘needing to go to the bathroom’ Of course this wasn’t true, and Christine knew for sure she wouldn’t be back for another 30 minutes. After another 5 minutes that felt like an eternity, she saw Star walking towards her way. “Well, didn’t we take a long time in the bathroom?” she sarcastically remarked at her sister. “Hey, its not my fault you were stupid enough not to follow in with me” Star replied, “how long do you think this is gonna last?”

“From the looks of it, they’re going to stay a bit longer than we want to” Christine said, with the same bored expression that was plastered on her face about an hour ago.

“I can’t take any more of this”

Christine watched as Star went and hid behind the same tree Tay was. ‘hmm, one good thing about my sister, she can get him to do anything’ she thought.

Crouching next to Tay, Star looked at him. Realizing he was too into the game to acknowledge her presence, she whispered in his ear, “Um, boo?” Despite the absurdness of that comment, it did get Taylor to jump a bit. “What are you doing here?” he said, realizing who the voice belonged too. “Well, as much fun as watching you guys shooting each other with paint, Christine and I was thinking it was time we went back”

Taylor pulled off his protective mask, “No way, we’re just getting started!” Seeing this wasn’t getting her anywhere, Star went into the begging phase. “Tay! come on, it’s christmas, don’t you wanna spend time with your family?” she added in the the sad puppy dog look, “or with me?” What normal guy can resist that? Taylor sighed and called for Zac and Ike, telling them they should head back home.

“Thank the lord thats over!!” Christine exclaimed, “but I still can not believe you got him to end it...just like that” she said, snapping two of her fingers.

“What can I say, i’m a genius!” Star remarked, “and a little begging did help”

They went into the kitchen to find two busy sets of parents preparing the Christmas dinner. “I don’t think its a good idea to be in here” Taylor remarked, seeing the frantic parents, “lets go down the basement” Isaac, declaring the champion of table tennis, challenged Zac and Christine to a game. Zac, being quite competitive, accepted the challenge and the three played.

Star went over to Taylor who was sitting on one of the couches, looking bored. “Want company?” she asked, taking a seat. “Sure”

They both sat quite comfortably, enjoying each other’s company for a while before Tay spoke up, “Lets shoot some pool” Star raised her eyebrows at the idea, “How do you play pool, Tay?” Taylor’s face filled with shock, “You don’t know how to play pool?” “No, and since you’re making fun of me for that, I think i’ll go back upstairs” she joked, grinning. “Hey, its just...you’re a sports freak” he spat out, enjoying the fact that he at least could beat her at something.

“I wouldn’t consider this a sport” she defended. “Whoa, come on, i’m joking” Taylor said, putting his hands loosely on her waist, “let me teach you”
