*~CHAPTER 5~*

“Would you like to dance?” Taylor asked, now realizing that the girl was Natalie.

“Umm, sure” she replied, surprised but took his hand as he led her to the dance floor.

While dancing with her, Taylor wondered about Bryce and Starla. He didn’t know why, but he felt an urge to know. Shaking the thought out of his head Taylor embraced Natalie around the waist as a slow song played.

The song finished the final chords of ‘Quit playing games(with my heart)’ and Bryce let go. Sooner than he expected, Starla was pulled away by one of her friends. Who? he could just vaguely see blondish brown wavy hair put in a ponytail.

As soon as Bryce let go, Starla felt another pair of hands grab her away.

“What the...”

“Sorry to cut your dance short...but Taylor is really and I mean really out of it”

“What’s wrong, he’s dancing with....who is that, Natalie?”

“Yeah, but he only asked her to dance after I made a comment about having fun...not very Taylor- like to me”

“Ike, maybe he really is run-down from all your appearances, Taylor is a normal person”

“But...”

“Come on, i’ll show you how to have fun”

Starla took his hand and practically dragged him onto the dance floor. At first Ike wasn’t sure, but got into it eventually and the whole worry was out of his mind by the time the second song had started.

*~AN HOUR LATER~*

‘I am having so much fun’ Taylor thought to himself as he took a swig from his cup of rootbeer. At first, he tried to have ‘fun’ as Isaac said he should do, by asking almost every girl to dance. Now, he was bored, had a headache, and his feet felt like they were going to fall off

Finally, Taylor scanned the crowd and managed to catch up with Bryce.

“Hey Bryce, do you know where Isaac or Starla went?”

“I don’t know, they just...wait I think they went outside for some air”

“Thanx”

“No Prob”

Outside, Taylor found them, finally, but what he saw was just beyond his belief. Hurriedly he ran back into the house.
