Isaac put down his guitar in frustration. Apparently, he too was just as confused. Though this sounded absurd, he never did once think of a relationship or anything other than friends with Starla. The situation was so mixed up, all in one night: he had checked her out, kissed her, and found out Tay was in love with her.
“Yo chewie”
Ike turned around to see Tay and Starla. ‘great’ he thought
“Hey, what are you guys doin here”
“I went to her practice, and we walked back here” Tay replied.
“So Tay told you, eh”
“Told me what Ike?”
“Of how Tay feel’s about....um...feels about....Cheese?” Ike realized he had made a mistake...big time. But not to mention the situation was sort of humorous, with Taylor’s face turning a nice shade of red, close to a tomato and the confused look on Starla’s face.......and cheese? no, this isn’t funny. Ike argued in his head, but all that came out was a very loud laugh.
“Ha aha hhaa!”
“Ike, what the heck is going on?!” Starla said, extremely and utterly confused
“Umm, actually...ah, um nothing, on second thought...why don’t you go..um could you go um...outside...yeah...outside?” Tay asked, very stunned and stuttering between every word.
“Um, sure” Starla replied, it was the only thing to do anyways.
Once she went out, Tay glared angrily at Isaac.
“What was that for!?”
“Tay, i’m sorry...I just thought you already told her your feelings, it was a mistake, honest”
Taylor couldn’t hold a grudge for long, something he thought was a flaw...since he could get so much out of this situation if he could. But the problem was, now he had to tell her how he felt, since Ike dropped the bombshell, Tay had to explain...but how?
He stepped out of the garage and took a deep breath. Spotting her sitting on the lawn, he nervously walked over to her.
“Hey”
She smiled, “Hey Tay”
“Listen, um you know what Ike said in the garage?”
“Hmm, if I remember distintly, he said something about you and cheese”
He laughed, “Yeah, well Ike was referring about me....and my feelings for...you”
She broke out laughing, "Come on, what was it really about?"
"Its true" Tay replied softly.
Star realized he was being serious and stopped laughing, "Tay how would it work, we practically fight 24 hours a day as friends"
"Well, actually I thought we could just try dating and see if it works out" Tay said, sort of easing up a bit.
"Kind of like a bargain thing, right" Star said grinning now.
"Yeah, and if it doesn't work out we'll just go back to biting each other's heads off" Tay said laughing.
"And what would keep us from doing that when we're dating!" Star replied, laughing.
he continued, “So will you go out with me, give me a chance even though i’m a jerk?”
She laughed, “Why not, so called ‘heartthrob!’”
“Star!! You know I hate that phrase!”
“Well you're named that in almost half the U.S., so get used to it!”
Tay shook his head. He loved how her jokes always made the tension in any situation just go away.
“Tay! look at the sunset!” Starla said, pointing.
Taylor didn’t notice the time until now, the afternoon just seemed to go by so fast. He looked in the direction of her pointing finger and saw one of the most spectacular sunsets he had ever seen. But perhaps it was just sharing the sunset with her that made it so spectacular. After the two said goodbye, Tay went back in his house with a smile on his face.
