Ike looked over at his little brother who had been writing in his journal with a smile on his face for almost an hour now.
“Tay, what are ya smiling about?”
“I asked her out”
“And?”
“And what? You must be pretty stupid if you can’t figure it out”
“Okay, Okay I was just seeing how you would react”
“Hey Ike?”
“Yeah Tay?”
“Do you like her, you know after that kiss?”
“Tay, I told you, I don’t have any like feelings for her except like a friend”
“Kay”
Their conversation was interrupted by the loud thumping of a very hyper Zac. He stopped and looked over Tay’s shoulder.
“Oooh, and what are you writing?”
“Its nothing Zac”
“We’ll see about that!!” Zac snatched the journal from in front of Tay and started reading it outloud.
“Today, I finally had the courage to...” He was interrupted when an angry Tay grabbed back his journal.
“Oh come on, it was just a joke!” Zac said, but Tay ignored him and went back to writing.
Seeing that in a few hours the grudge would be over, Zac went out of the room in search of something else to bother. The sight of his two sisters made him smile.
“Why hello Avie!”
“Hi Zac” she replied, not even bothering to look up from her barbies.
“Want me to play with you?” He said, a wicked plan forming in his head.
“No way! Last time you almost melted them on the stove!”
“Well this time, lets try mutating them!” Grabbing the Barbie doll, he dashed off with his sister running after him.
“ZAC!” Avery screamed, but it was no use, her brother was too fast for her. Only one thing to do.....get mom.
Within minutes Diana Hanson was confronted by her daughter’s situation. Sighing, she called for Zac.
“Zachary Walker Hanson! If you don’t get down here with your sister’s doll this instant, you will be grounded!!”
“FINE FINE! It was just a joke!” Zac grumbled, glaring at her sister who was making faces at him behind his mother’s back.
The rest of the evening was horrible for the 11 year old, he was forced to apologize to his sister, a rarity for Zac, and Taylor’s ‘juicy’ secret that was being kept was bugging him to death. Right at the moment he was putting together a plan to read Tay’s journal.
‘Not too hard, he puts it in the easiest places’ he concluded, and went upstairs. Finding that his two brothers were downstairs practicing, he pushed aside the guilt that was welling up inside of himself and went on his search.
He looked under the bed, only to be surprised that it wasn’t there. ‘Okay, if I were Tay, where would I keep my precious journal? The closet?....no How about this drawer?...BINGO!’
Satisfied, he opened up the red bound keeper of his brother’s secrets.
“ZAC!” Just as Zac finished reading the entry he had read earlier, the door opened.
“Hey Zac, we’re practicing and Ike wants you to come..WHAT ARE YOU READING?!”
Taylor looked at his red-handed brother, the anger boiling inside of him that almost made him want to kill Zac at the moment.
