*~CHAPTER 12~*

The phone rang for the millionth time at the Jenks household. This time, Starla made her younger sister, Christine answer the annoying device.

“Hello?”

“Hey, is Star there?”

“Yeah, i’ll get her for ya”

The 11 year old opened the door to her sister’s room, which was blasting with some kind of rock music. Practically screaming, she finally got her sister’s attention.

“PHONE!!”

“Okay, i’ll get it on this phone, Thanx”

Christine rubbed her ears, ‘how loud can that thing blast?’ she thought. Shrugging, she went into her own room.

“Ahh, peace and quiet” She said to no one in particular.

But about two minutes later, the quiet was gone and shouts of “DINNER’S READY!” were heard. Sighing, she went downstairs to eat. At dinner, her brother was blabbing about some Godzilla movie or whatever, and her parents seemed actually interested in what he was saying. She looked down at her plate and decided that the chicken didn’t look edible as it did 15 minutes ago.

“Sick!” Starla exclaimed, looking over at her sister’s plate, which was showing skin, bone, and just shreds. It WAS a chicken breast a few minutes ago.

“No one saids eating had to be pretty”

“Okay Christine, first: that was the lamest comeback I have ever heard, and second: you’re right no one said that eating had to be pretty, but at least have the decency to eat the thing, not make it look like it was put in a shredding device”

Before Christine could answer, the phone rang. Both girls ran to get the phone, but Christine reached it first. With Starla glaring, she answered.

“Hello?”

“Hello, is Mrs or Mr Jenks there?”

She rolled her eyes, another call begging her parents to buy some crap.

“Um, there not here right now, can I take a message or something?”

“No, we’ll just call back later, thanks”

“Great” she mumbled as she hung up the phone.

“What was that about?”

“Another stupid salesman” She answered to her sister.

“TAY! For the ten billionth time, I’M SORRY!!!” Zac pounded on the door, but it was no use. Tay had been in there for over an hour refusing to open the door.

“Zac, leave him alone” Ike pushed him brother into the living room. He sighed, “Why did you read the thing in the first place?”

“You two were talking really secretly and I decided to find out, which leads to this ending” He looked pitifully at Isaac, “Come on, help me out, please?!”

His begging was pitiful. “Fine, i’ll go talk to the guy”

Within less than an hour, Isaac had managed to calm Tay down, and the two enemies talked it out.

“Thank You Peacemaker!!” Zac screamed gratefully at his towering older brother.

“You owe me, and I won’t forget it” Ike replied with a smile.
