Taylor flipped through about ten thousand different channels on the television before giving up and retreating back to his room. He went over to the stereo and flipped it on, not bothering to look at what station it was on. Plopping onto the bed, he listened intently, enjoying the solitude.
I'll be your dream
I'll be your wish I'll be your fantasy
I'll be your hope I'll be your love
Be everything that you need
I'll love you more with every breath
Truly, madly, deeply do
I will be strong I will be faithful
'cause I'm counting on
A new beginning
A reason for living
A deeper meaning
I want to stand with you on a mountain
I want to bathe with you in the sea
I want to lay like this forever
Until the sky falls down on me
He frowned, realizing how much that expresses how he felt in his heart. Even though it was disgustingly retro, he actually felt that way. But the decision was made because of his career. Did that mean he had to give up the girl he liked? Taylor’s thoughts were interrupted by an unusually happy Isaac.
“Hey Tay, whats up?”
Sitting upright in an indian position, he looked at him weirdly. “What are you in a such a good mood about?”
“Come on, we haven’t been home for a month! I’m just really happy because of it” Actually, he had planned on a little surprise for his bro and Isaac couldn’t control the mysterious smile that was planted on his lips. He didn’t believe Mercury could just control his life like that, and felt it was wrong to pull them apart this way.
Taylor sighed, “Well at least all the members of the Hanson family are happy. Except me that is"
Isaac’s smile turned into a grin. “So I guess you’re still depressed”
“And what would you do if a situation like this happens you?” Taylor questioned. Of course he was depressed, this wasn’t something that would just go away.
“Hm, well come on. Lets go get a frapacino or something at the coffee shop” Isaac said. Nothing was going to get in the way of this.
“Yeah, sure. Maybe that would help” Taylor said. He looked down, seeing his white undershirt and boxers. “On second thought, let me get on some clothes first”

Kate grabbed her Nike bag and looked took another drink out of her water bottle. “You ready?”
“Yeah” Star replied, swinging her adidas workout bag back and forth momentarily. The two of them left the gym, and headed for the coffeeshop.
They were greeted by a short red haired lady with a black apron tied tightly on her waist. “And what can I do for you two?” She asked, her tone friendly and slightly annoying.
“I think i’m having a mochacino” Kate said, pointing to the blackboard with white lettering.
“Alright, and you?” the waitress said, her eyes moving to Star.
“Ice Cap” Star answered, looking around the coffeeshop.
Kate waved both of her hands across her face, hoping to snap out of Star’s sudden trance. “Earth to Star!”
“Wa? Oh, sorry” she mumbled, “Something was bothering me”
“Well the ‘something’ or should I say ‘someone’ is over in the next booth”
Star looked over at Kate’s extended arm over at the booth seating two teenage guys. “Ohmigod” she sputtered out. But it was too late, due to Kate’s arm, Isaac had come over, with no one other than Taylor trailing behind him.
Taylor couldn’t look at her, the sight of her angry face was just too much. He wanted to tell her, to say he didn’t mean what he said or expressed, he just wanted her to come back, wanted everything to be normal again.
“Hey guys! Didn’t you just get back?” It was clear Kate wanted a very long conversation to develop.
Star scowled, just the sight of him made her furious. She didn’t know how this sudden anger came out, but it just did. She desperatly needed to get out of this situation...anything to get away from Taylor. The conversation between the two speakers, Kate and Isaac was interrupted by the waitress back with their drinks.
“And here you are!” she exhuberantly said, placing the two cups in front of them.
“Thanks” Star mumbled. “Hey, I think i’m going over to there, kay?”
Before anyone can express their approval, she trudged towards the opposite side of the room and plopped down onto one of the big plush chairs meant for relaxing. She took a magazine, and started to concentrate on it, hoping to calm down.
Kate and Isaac eyed each other, there was no way they weren’t going to talk to each other. They had planned this for a long time and this wasn’t going to waste. Isaac pushed Taylor towards her direction and gave him a look. Taylor sighed, walking slowly. It was now or never.
“Hey, can I sit down?” he asked quizically, hoping she would say yes.
Star looked up, seeing the sullen face. “Do whatever the heck you want”
He took the answer as a yes and sat down. “What’s going on between us?”
Her jaw dropped, and her face started to burn up. “You’re asking me that? Wasn’t it you that I recall blowing up on me for no reason?”
‘Okay, this isn’t good’ he thought. Should he tell her? Star sounded extremely upset and Taylor began to realize the absurdness of the comment he had made just a few moments ago.
“I...I didn’t want to do that” he sputtered out and looking down, intrigued suddenly by the carpet.
“Taylor, you walked out! You gave me a sign to get out of your life and didn’t give me a reason! I can’t say I’m not upset. What the heck told you to do that then?”
Tay took a deep breath. “Mercury pressured me into it” he managed to spit out.
“What has your record company got to do with our relationship!” she stared at him in disbelief.
“Chris said it would be bad for my...our careers” he looked up, feeling more miserable just telling her why. “I really really didn’t want to break up. You’re the last thing I want out of my life”
“So what does that leave for the two of us? The end? What do you want Tay?”
“I want you back” he answered, from the bottom of his heart.
“No” she replied. Star got up and left the coffeeshop, leaving Taylor with a broken heart.
