That day, Taylor had to pack for yet another promotional tour.
“Hand me that shirt, will ya?”
Taylor turned to find Zac throwing pieces of clothing into his suitcase. He had already finished packing, and Zac had procrastinated till the last moment, as usual.
“Here” He threw the green shirt to him, and went outside. Isaac was tuning his guitar in the garage.
Turning, he went in.
“Ike?”
“Yeah?” Isaac replied, strumming some chords
“Do you know where Starla is?”
“Taylor, she does have a life”
“Hey, i’m just asking you”
“She’s at soccer practice, if you really want to know”
“Hasn’t soccer already ended?”
“Oh yeah, now it’s basketball”
“Thanks,” Taylor said, grabbing his rollerblades.
“Taylor......” Isaac began, but the love stricken boy had already rushed out the door.
“Bank shot!!” Jen yelled, making a clean basket.
“Good Job!!” Her team mates congratulated, including Starla.
The team were playing a fun game between another school that had passed by. They won the first half, fate had depended on that bank shot. (9-7)
Starla sat one of the benches, confused about the night before. Her head was spinning with ideas, and just felt helpless at this point. She heard one of the gym doors open, and saw Taylor looking around, and figured that he was looking for her. So, she walked towards him, not knowing what to expect, but feeling better to see him.
“Hi”
Taylor turned around to see the basketball player.
“Hey”
“What, have you come to tell me I know jack about basketball again” Star snickered
“I, well actually I wanted to talk to you”
“Well, this practice game should last for about 15 more minutes, wanna watch?”
“Sure”
Starla left, going back on the court to fill in for one of her team mates, Kate.
“Knock ‘em dead” She smiled, patting Starla on the shoulder.
“Thanks”
The game finally ended, the other team winning by only a point. Starla sat on the bench, taking gulps of bottled water. She wasn’t exactly upset about the loss, just more confused as to what Taylor would want to talk about. Normally, he would of argued with her as soon as she would make a sarcastic remark. She sighed, and put on her brown doc martens, before walking out of the locker room.
Taylor was waiting, looking a little nervous, but about what? She began feeling nervous too.
Finally, Taylor looked and saw Starla walking towards him. He was more nervous than ever, and over such a simple question, before he could think anymore, she was already close enough so he could talk.
“Hi” He began nervously
“Let’s just cut to it, what’s up?”
'No he couldn't do it' Tay thought and switch the big topic to Ike.
“Well, it’s actually quite simple, I was wondering if you and Ike were in any way having feelings for each other?”
“So, he told you about it?”
“um, no...I sorta went out there on accident”
“I honestly don’t know, this is really awkward”
“Yeah, I think he feel’s the same, but he saids there’s nothing between you guys, at least in his point of view”
“I think that way at this point too, but what if he really has like feelings for me or something, i’m so confused” She buried her face in her hands.
“Listen, I think it’s gonna be okay, in my opinion”
“Thanks...... Maybe you aren’t that big of a jerk”
“Why thank you......come on, it’s getting depressing in here”
They both walked out of the gym, quite still confused, but having at least a bit of hope they would have each other.........at least.
